Six Days, Samiha’s latest film, is a short documentary (26 min long) about her first journey to Palestine in the spring of 2017. With footage she recorded herself during her trip, and in her own words, this is the story of an eventful six days in Jerusalem and the West Bank. Just in the course of this brief stay, there were distressing encounters with the occupation – checkpoints, the infamous Wall, the ever-present Israeli military, daily humiliations and a political prisoners’ hunger strike. There was also, everywhere, the legendary Palestinian welcome – the superb food and hospitality – from a children’s centre in Bethlehem to the hills of Battir, from a conference in Bir Zeit University to a brewery in Taybeh…in schools, churches and people’s homes. Above all, this is a story of reunions and friendships, and of the remarkable vitality, dignity and resilience of the Palestinians in the face of the greatest and most enduring injustices of our time.

The screening will be followed by a discussion on recent visits to Palestine by members of the BoAFoP committee, and by Judith Gradwell from the UK’s branch of ICADH (Israeli Committee Against House Demolitions).
